WordPress 2.1, uploading etc.
A few updates on the site:
- The test run site has been upgraded to WordPress 2.1.
- Comments on the test run site has been deleted, and commenting is now closed.
- The rating system on the main site has been removed - many users noticed that theme authors misused the system to gain more attention to their themes.
- People who have requested permission to upload, now have uploading rights.
- In the future, people who sign up for an account will have permission to upload right away.
Regarding all the people who have volunteered to help - thanks a lot. I will get in touch with some of you within the next week, since the site will need moderators to keep down the volume of spam, bitching, theme ripoff’s and duplicate uploads.

Make sure your theme folder has the style.css file. The structure below should work:

Hi,
My theme Smooth Dirt seems to have lost it’s stylesheet. It has been included as I uploaded it a few months ago and have had around 4000 downloads. Please can you replace/put back the stylesheet (which is in the download) as it does not work on the test run..Comment by robert — April 21, 14:59

@ Robert
You need to update the theme if you feel there is an issue/missing file. Use the “update theme” feature and your theme files will get replaced (adding any missing components).

This will serve as a warning to anyone who is trying to pass off popular themes as your own, provide the appropriate attribution or your upload permission will be removed.
Also, if your theme gets removed for any reason, write to me before you upload it again!

@ Robert,
That comment was not directed towards you.
It was for those who claim to be the original CSS/WP designers of popular themes with minor graphic mods. In the past few weeks, close to 75 rip-offs/duplications have been removed.
I would like one of those who had volunteered to help earlier to report theme duplications/rip-offs at wpmoderator[at]yahoo[dot]com.
If you have any questions or issues, you can email me directly, I will try to respond within 2 business days.

Your themes were removed for missing credits to the original graphic designers. Pls update your themes with credits to the original designers in the footers.
@all,
It’s not going to be as easy as updating your themes a few months later when caught. We suggest you add attribution links not only for uploading themes on Theme Viewer, but on other official/non-official WordPress sites before your names are reported to other sites as well.
Also, you might want to inform the users of your themes to add the original attribution links to the footers. You could do this by adding a note on your own websites.

If a theme is based initially on the WP default theme (Kubrick) but modified substantially… what is the standard of attribution? I am just trying to get a solid handle on where and at what point the work becomes original and requires no attribution technically speaking? Not to evade but just to know. And where are there good examples of proper attribution?

Dear Moderator,
One of the themes removed (This Other Eden) has links to the original designer in the SIDEBAR where the AUTHORS originally put it. In fact, the original theme did not even have a footer. I am puzzled why your wishes about the placement of the author’s link should override the intentions of the original template designer, can you explain this more fully please?
As for updating edited versions of the themes, we have already tried this but still they do not show up.
If we are using linkware templates we ALWAYS keep the required link to the authors and require the people who download them to keep them too. It is libellous of you to imply that we do not. If links do not appear, it is because the original author did not require that they be included but made the template freely available for use without them. Some of them do not even provide sites to link to, what do you suggest we do in these cases?

@ Grab A Theme
This site is not run based on my wishes. Some basic rules are set to prevent rip-offs, you will not appreciate it until your theme gets ripped off.
Also, you updated the theme once I pulled it out of the site, you have included footer links now and I posted it back. As for the 2nd version, it was exactly the same as the first one in a different color and is considered a duplicate. So it will not be posted back.
Sidebar credits, especially when the sidebar is widget ready, is not reasonable for the reason that it will be removed as soon as one uses widgets. I see you have included footer links for yourself, so I see no reason why adding the original designer link there would be of any hassle to anyone. If you are really interested in attributing credits, why not include it where it is likely not removed from, just like you have done for your own site.
If the original author does not have a site, then add their names at least. It’s not like the template pops out of thin air. CSS descriptions are not visible on a site, so adding it there is as good as not adding it at all.
Comment by Moderator — May 13, 3:45

‘Fleur for Wordpress’ is an entirely different design to ‘This Other Eden’ and to the existing themes called ‘Fleur’ on this site. We have updated it to link to the author in the footer, in accordance with your wishes, yet it is still not showing up in searches. Should we re-upload it under another name?
Also if you had bothered to look at the actual code for ‘This Other Eden’ you would have seen that the sidebar module containing the credits is outside of the widget code, so it is unaffected by widgets. However we understand you are probably far too busy to look at the zips yourself so your confusion is understandable.
Comment by Grab A Theme — May 13, 12:37

Sorry to post again but I do need to be reassured. If our themes keep ‘disappearing’ and still don’t show up when we update them with new links, then obviously we would have to upload the new version as if it was a new theme. But will the new upload be treated as a duplicate? We do want to obey whatever rules you have, but if they are just going to be deleted all over again then that would be a waste of everyone’s time.
Comment by Grab A Theme — May 13, 20:03

@ Grab A Theme
Smart aren’t you! When did I say “Fleur for Wordpress” was a duplicate? I removed that theme because there were no attributes (you just updated it today). I removed “That Other Eden” which was a duplicate of “This Other Eden”. So no need for sarcasm.
You know why your themes were removed, don’t try and make it appear like we don’t know what we are doing. You could save us the trouble if you had added the required attributes in the first place.
Before you write again, read the FAQ!

Thanks for restoring ‘Fleur for Wordpress’. I have read the FAQ, but unfortunately it does not answer my question about updated themes being treated as duplicates.
What is the procedure you suggest we follow? Should we update the missing themes and then contact you telling you the changes have been made, or delete the existing themes and upload the updated ones as new themes? On the one hand I would prefer not to lose the download counts, but on the other it would be a LOT easier if we could get the fixed versions up without waiting for you to approve them, and I’m sure you have better things to do with your time too.
Comment by Grab A Theme — May 14, 13:08

@Grab A Theme,
Pls do not take this personally, we are only trying to ensure that everyone get due credits. I appreciate you leaving credits in the CSS descriptions, unlike many who don’t leave any credits at all to the original designers.

I have been going from one theme to the other for a few hours. I was looking for themes with 2 columns and a left sidebar. Many theme designers obviously confuse left and right! But it is not too big of a problem as you already see that in the snapshot.
My biggest problem is to find the license terms for each theme. Why is this information not available for each theme under “Theme info” ? It is really a waste of time to have to walk around publishers site untill you find an email address or any other way to get the information.

Maybe a couple of extra options in the Sorting Options? Something like Quality: Pro Themer and Quality: Newbie Themer. I believe the sorting options tend to make front page status less important. Obviously, some of the pro themers are annoyed by the flood of newbies. The flood is gonna grow whether anyone likes it or not. With WP being so popular, many of those webmasters are eventually going to look into building themes of their own. They will, of course, be proud of their accomplishments and want to join in the fun of offering their works on the theme viewer, regardless how feeble their plums might be.

i was talking abt these type of themes :
http://themes.wordpress.net/index.php?s=Anthony+Ifonthey clearly are just color variations, he releases 3-4 color variations at a time and thus pushing good themes out of the first page.

Fair enough but I only released 2 a day and with over 100 downloads each on the first 2 releases people seemed to like them.
Not everyone has a suitable image editor to change the colours on the images within a template.Plus I’m sure some people some people just can’t be bothered that’s why then come to download templates rather than create there own.
@ Moderator
How about if one colour variation was uploaded a day would this be okay.

another one
http://themes.wordpress.net/index.php?s=Aequitas@newpbc
Imagine if everyone starts releasing color variations…from the FAQ section :
You are not allowed to duplicate your own theme over and over again by simply changing the header image. If you would like to provide multiple headers, give a link to your own site from where the header images could be downloaded.
If you want to offer multiple color choices for your theme, use a WP options menu or provide other options on your own website.
Comment by AskGraphics — May 31, 21:05
-
@ Ask Graphics,
“newpbc” has been pushing themes behind, so do other users who upload more than one theme a day. We are working on this and might soon control the upload of multiple themes by the same user too frequently.
@newpbc,
If you were to pay for uploading themes on this site, would do upload the same theme in so many different colors? Unfortunately, this site cannot be dedicated to you.
You can list other colors available in the comments section so that users who like your theme can check your site. If you duplicate again, your account will be suspended.
Comment by Moderator — May 31, 21:25

@ AskGraphics or others willing to volunteer:
You can take one or more of the following responsibilities.
1. Checking new themes for duplication and reporting them: Duplication of the same theme with different graphics or colors.
2. Checking new themes for repeat ports and reporting them.
3. Reporting missing credits/attributions.
4. Reporting duplicate IDs.
5. Reporting spam and abuse in comments. Each task would require around 30 minutes of your time everyday. So make sure you commit ONLY if you are willing to dedicate that much time (for free of course!)

Hi my name is Jamey Miller, I have recently uploaded 2 themes and they have since been banned. I understand you have been speaking with my associate Todd with Total Backyard after he carelessly just changed the header image and re-submitted. The themes I have designed are original and are Dark Sunday 1.0 and Kiddie Korner 1.0. I did put a couple of links at the bottom to my sites, but I see almost every theme on here to that. Is that not part of the reward here, to gain links while providing a useful and well designed theme for the wordpress community?
I was hoping you could give me some insight on what was wrong with these themes and what I could do to correct this.

Has the webmaster considered having a monthly (or even weekly) most downloads section in addition to the “Most Downloaded”? I think I would be a neat feature, and it would enable bloggers to see what is popular now, and not just the same old most downloaded list that may never change.

@ Lorelei, Liza Kliko, Rui Castro, web2themes, digitalphoto or rcastro,
Did I miss any of your aliases?
You were BANNED for stealing credits and you still are BANNED. So do not try to cheat repeatedly because we will catch you.
Darklight, Lorelei Bliss 2.0, Lizommi, Diary Notes, Bluewell, etc. are just a few blatant copies of themes by headsetoptions.org and mandarinmusing.com, Spring rain is a blatant copy of a Kaushal Sheth theme.
You have multiple charges on you:
1. Repeat stealing, you were banned because all your themes were ripoffs. You cannot claim to be a WordPress designer if all you do is take a popular theme and change it’s graphics (even worse, without permission from or credits to the respective authors).2. Inspite of being banned, you duplicated IDs and dared to upload more ripoffs using aliases.
3. You’ve also duplicated themes with your duplicate ids.
If someone finds any theme from loreleiwebdesign.com, web2themes.com, toptut.com on this site, do inform us.
WARNING to contributors and sponsors of stolen themes: If you support ripoffs, directly or indirectly, you are to blame equally, and if you sponsor stolen work repeatedly, all themes sponsored by you would be banned too.
Comment by Moderator — June 19, 1:44
-
@ George C,
Leave credits wherever necessary in all your themes which are adaptations of “Cleaker” by Adam Walker Cleveland. Also, stop duplicating the same theme with minor mods, if you want to continue to upload themes.
@ Rochow,
You uploaded a theme for “crimsonc” or designprophet.co.uk with no attribution to Arie Setiawan. The same author tried to copy Envision3C by headsetoptions.org. This is exactly why registration is not open for all, i.e. to prevent potential ripoffs.
I have been registering for new users, so there is no reason why you should upload themes for other users.

Please let me know.

@Moderator
I’m sorry for the double-post, but I want to get one thing clear…
When “Rochow” published my themes, I put the “designer-sponsor-link” as the author of the theme (in the .css file). I didn’t know that this is not allowed so if you let me upload these themes again, I’ll certainly change the author name to “DonCano”, because I’m the designer & coder of these themes and there’ll be no problems again.
My Themes which “rochow” uploaded for me:
Business Theme
Designer Theme
Urban (Style) Theme
Orange 3D Theme
Dark Nature Theme
Thanks.

What do you mean “aliases”?
@ DonCano, Styleshout, Hitesh Shah, Rochow, wpthemer.com, changedetect.com, shoutdirectory.com, conversational-hypnosis.com, themeoutlet.com, hs-hosting.net, etc.
You have too many aliases, I have only listed a few above.
I suspended your account for duplicating themes, and for uploading themes for others. (Read comment 273) Now you want a new id DonCano. Just a warning, do not try to duplicate ids again.”
shoutdirectory.com is mine, as is themeoutlet.com as is rochow. The rest of them are from uploading DonCano’s which I’ve just found out I’m not actually allowed to do.
Every single theme of mine is designed either by me or I purchased with the .psd’s. If there are rip-offs I would like to know about it (as I will have to have a nice chat to the perosn I bought it off)
I must have missed the part where the author has to be the same for all the templates I made. I had been trying to spread them out between my 3 sites which will be online very soon.
The “wpthemer.com” was because I uploaded a theme I bought off DP by the owner of wpthemer and forgot to change the style.css … and because the author was then shown to be not me, I couldn’t update it.
I only have the one account, and have never ripped off a theme before (have all the .psds to prove it). I was only trying to help DonCano out (as I found out now is against the rules) and have subsequently lost my account. Not looking forward to telling the sponsors…
Thanks,

@ Moderator,
It’s always amusing to see someone’s anger, especially when it misses the target. Well done on finding out that Liza Kliko is Lorelei’s real name, it appears in my every site/blog, including account registration here, and I never attempted to hide my identity.
Rui Castro/ web2themes / rcastro is someone I don’t even know, though I had seen the person on digitalpoint forum. If he created double account(s), it has nothing to do with me anyway, and since you claim we are the same person - it only proves how unprofessional is the attitude at Themes Viewer. No need to threat saying “we will catch you”, because like I said, I never even tried to register another ID. I did ask digitalphoto to upload my theme, doesn’t make us to be the same person, and I did not know it was against the rules.
Yesterday I emailed you with the fixed credits on my theme, as you requested (of headsetoptions.org or mandarinmusing.com, I hope you do know it’s 1 person). I never denied basing my theme on his coding, and I was in contact with the author, with whom we resolved the issue FULLY 2 months ago, you seem to be the only one who has a problem with it. I also offered to send you PSD files of Lizommi, Diary Notes, Darklight, Lorelei Bliss etc - you did not reply to that email, you did not agree to see a proof, yet you keep claiming my DESIGN is ripped. Fine.
And yes, the themes mentioned above are similar and I know now that they can’t all be uploaded since their design is alike, but did I ask to put them all back online? I emailed you the new theme I was planning to upload, which is currently up on lizatom.com, coding based on Earthling, and has credits in both css description AND footer link (same story about Bluewell theme, up on lizatom.com/Bluewell), and if you claim it’s a “blatant rip off” of Earthling’s DESIGN, than I am obviously wasting my time trying to prove it.
Regards,
LizaComment by Lorelei — June 19, 23:04

@ Rochow,
I never said your themes are ripoffs. But are you denying you tried to upload a theme for someone who was caught selling sponsor links on a ripoff? Or are you denying you didn’t duplicate designer-theme, Modern Blue and Green 2.0 and Dark Effect Reloaded?
Every theme of yours has a different author, it’s your personal choice to use any of your websites as the author, but if you do that to elude us with a new website in every theme (half of which you now claim are not even your own themes), it’s not acceptable.
Lastly, you tried to reopen another account when suspended. At least for now, your account will not be reopened.
@ Lorelei,
All the themes you uploaded earlier were ripoffs, be it copied from headsetoptions.org or kaushalsheth.com. You dared to ask for permission to reupload the same themes without due credits again, even after a few months now. And stop lying, there were no footer links to any of the original authors when I removed your themes. If anything, your email clearly says you don’t want to provide any footer links.
You can give me all the names you want, I don’t

I’ve selected a theme I like but have no idea what to do next. My hosting is with godaddy.com. Help would really be appreciative.
Comment by hustledown1 — March 21, 12:34
I apologize if this has already been taken care of or is in the works. I think the theme viewer could be a little more easily accessible. For example - perhaps we could begin categorizing, or tagging, the themes (like istockphoto.com does their images). At the very least, i think it would be helpful to categorize themes by their applications/industries. For example, right now, in order to find a theme for a enterprise-level tech company, i really don’t know how to search for it other than page by page.
I’m sure with the people on here, we could come up with some innovative solutions to accessibility.
I’ll volunteer some time to help out if need be.
Thanks again for a great product, themes, and community.
Comment by Tison — March 21, 14:51
Now that a lot more people are uploading themes per day, could you please allow more entries in your RSS-feed, too? 10 Entries is not enough anymore to be able to follow the entries per day. I’d suggest publishing maybe 30 entries in your feed.
Comment by BGH Quiz — March 21, 16:41
I just uploaded two themes, one is a widgetized version, the other is just a normal theme.
However, both have the same thumbnail and both are called Cleaker 2.1 - so I just wanted to make sure you didn’t delete one of them, thinking I had uploaded duplicates.
They are different versions, and I want people to be able to have the option of a widgetized version.
Thanks!
Comment by adamwalkercleaveland — March 21, 17:19
There is no need to make 2 versions of a theme, to offer widgets. If people dont want to use widgets, they can simply deactivate the widget plugin.
Comment by The undersigned — March 21, 17:24
Okay — well, I didn’t know. I’ve sent numerous emails to you using the contact form here, as well as on your site, and I’ve never gotten any feedback (which was frustrating). I just realized today how to upload my theme - so if you need to take down the theme, just take down the one that doesn’t have widget capabilities…I left a comment on the theme page as to which one has widget-capabilities.

I’m thinking that without the ratings, once a theme falls off the front page it’s pretty much disappeared. Nobody’s ever going to catch up to the most popular — 18,000 downloads? So after the 12 hours or so that it’s on the front page, basically it’s just taking up storage space… How about maybe a random selection, just so there’s a chance of being seen again?
Comment by Rod McFarland — March 23, 5:39
BGH> I am sorry, i overlooked your idea - i have set the feed post count to 30 now.

Oh. My. Gosh. I uploaded my first theme, the uploading process went fine, but I saw in the demo/viewer I hadn’t taken into consideration the child categories. So I fixed that and tried re-uploading my theme through the update area. Now it’s a mess of code which is messing up the front page - EEK! I tried re-uploading the zip file again without any change. I’m sorry, I’m such a newbie… eek I don’t know what I did wrong! The theme in the viewer itself is rendering properly…

Comment by Sachin — April 5, 7:59
The thumbnails situation is being looked into. The images are not loading right now for most new uploads, it is not a browser issue. One way to overcome this issue is to try updating the theme (using the “update theme” link on top menu) once or twice when you think the site is not overworked, if you get lucky the browsershot program will not time out.
Comment by Moderator — April 5, 23:00
Update: Most thumbnails are updated, if your theme’s thumbnail is still not showing, list it here.

Sorry about your server woes!
I’m experimenting with “Brightside.” I get this Ԫ before and after the header art, and so it throws off the alignment of that piece.
It doesn’t happen when I test my blog in the default WP themes, nor in most of the others I am trying out.
You’ll see it if you navigate to the blog… I can’t figure out in which php file there is something that is unreferenced or missing or wrong. Any quick ideas??
Thanks, Katie
Comment by Katie Baird — April 5, 23:48
@ Katie
The problem seems to be isolated, why not try uploading the header.php file again. Also, how are you uploading the theme files on to your site? FTP?
Here’s how it should look:
http://themes.wordpress.net/testrun/?wptheme=1922
Also, write specific theme related question on the theme’s comments section or on the authors site!

you should think of a policy to forbid sponsored themes. people such as themey are taking the piss. it is so annoying. low quality unoriginal themes or css tempatles filled with wordpress code, whooha great theme modding. similar to hso guys who just use existing easy css layouts and put their sponsored (paid for) links under them. if this is going to be a good site in future, the admins should take action.

You are able to submit as many themes as you desire. Two possible reasons why you may see this error:
1) You are submitting the same theme the 2nd time, if you want to update the theme, do not re-submit, just use the update page instead.
2) Make sure the name of the 2nd theme you are submitting is different from your 1st theme (in your style.css file) and so forth.
Also, if you asked more politely, may be others will answer your questions and help you out too!
Comment by Moderator — April 7, 16:49
@ Tout a coup
Mind your language and get your facts right before you point fingers at a “selected” few.
Why don’t you do 70 themes for free (without sponsors) if you think it’s so easy? Obviously you seem to have a lot of time on your hands since you are out here to abuse others, and not bringing in a dollar worth of value.
FYI, there are many who need a ready-to-use WordPress theme, because they can’t do it themselves.
This is a good site and will remain that way if people focused more on creating something for the WordPress Community rather than bitching.
Comment by headsetoptions — April 7, 16:55
NOTICE TO ALL:
Lately, a few themes have been removed from Theme Viewer for copyright infringements.
All designers who have failed to provide attribution links to the original designers/authors in their themes, are required to update their themes immediately with a footer link to the original designers/authors.
Your themes will be subject to removal without prior notice if you do not comply with the rules of the license under which you are distributing/re-distributing your themes.
Strict action will be taken for repeat offense.
If you notice a theme which is a rip-off from your work, please bring it to our notice.
Comment by Moderator — April 7, 18:08
@ Luthien00, there is another possible reason why the system thinks your theme is already submitted and that is because there already exists another theme with the same name. The same thing happened to me twice, but after I changed the names of the themes it worked fine.
If you think about it, there are over 2000 themes on this site already and it is quite likely that somebody else has already used the same name for your theme. Before uploading any theme, it is always worth doing a search to check that nobody has used the name already.
@ Tout a coup, I don’t understand why you are so angry about this. If you don’t want to use a sponsored theme, nobody is making you download them. Most people would rather have a wide choice of themes and then make their own decision whether they are willing to use one with sponsored links or that has been adapted from another template. You are trying to take choice away from people and there is nothing Open Source about that.
@ Moderator, if you provided a PayPal donation button I would be happy to contribute towards the new server and I am sure many others would too!
Comment by Grab A Theme — April 7, 19:26
I’d hit the PayPal link too because I know what’s involved in running a server and running a site like this AND trying to do your day job (the one that pays) and manage your personal life..
It’s all about choices, people.
@Tout A Coup: Tell me what caliber of gun was being held to your head to make you download a sponsored theme?
That big red X is in the top righthand side of most browsers for a reason. I suggest you use it if you see something on this site that doesn’t appeal to you.
Comment by Pixelita Designs — April 7, 23:45
@ all those using the comments feature to discourage users from using our themes
We only expect a link in the footer to WordPress and to the designers who have contributed to the development of a theme. As for the sponsor links, it’s for the users to decide if it’s good to thank them for their support or not.
If the footer links are more important to you than the quality of the themes, I suggest you check footers instead of the themes for your site.
Sponsors are the ones supporting us to create themes for the WordPress community, they wouldn’t be supporting us if we didn’t do a good job of designing. We know you envy us, so find some more reasons to criticize us, coz that’s the best you do.
Tell me how many designers out here even give a link back to the original designer? Complaining is easy, attributing links to those who have made a theme possible is difficult.
Rating system has gone, but abuse continues.
Comment by headsetoptions — April 8, 0:53
[...] What disgusts me most is to see the very designers who use Theme Viewer as a platform to advertise their own talent, continuously complaining. As if a free service is not enough, designers make it sound like they own Theme Viewer or Thomas, the Undersigned. Aha, it’s like putting a gun to Thomas’s forehead and saying:” You gave us a free platform to showcase our work, but you better give us a good service, else….”. It’s the same as wanting a free theme, not on the designer’s terms and conditions, but on the users’ terms and conditions. [...]

Hi.
The theme thumbnails that I see on my screen are just black. Is there some kind of plugin I need to download to see the snaps?
thx
Comment by Adnan — April 8, 2:56
@about sponsor link
yep..ppl tend to angry to the theme uploader for providing a sponsor link in their theme but i personally didn’t mind about the sponsor link if the designer can make the sponsor link as clean as possibble..some of the theme i saw here are with messed long sponsor link text and not well organize sponsorlink so as a theme viewer member and wptheme designer myself..its good to give the downloader a more comfortable theme and well form theme so they can used it without thinking “man…i’m going to removed the sponsor link”..:)
@about clone theme
i saw couple of comments about clone theme especially the mistylook theme that was clone by timeless.if i’m not mistaken…the original author got pissed with the clone theme and even write an article about..hehe….way to go man!
the theme clone fenomena are usually hard to define if its intetionally or accidentally clone…since designer may think a like..its hard to prevent a slight cloning happened….the only way if you want to prevent any cloning happened..you may should designed a unique and heavy graphic wp theme rather than simple wp design but that will took much work and time for designer or coder alike..not likely will be practise by daily theme uploader..but still an effort should be put to each themes so ppl could enjoy and used your theme without changing it frequestly..lol…:)
well i haven’t upload my own theme yet…maybe i should check all the themes to prevent cloning happen..:)
anyway goodluck yall..
Comment by rkcorp — April 9, 1:15
I think a checkbox wether or no the desgin contains a sponsorlink would be enough. I don’t see a relation to the clone-problem, some of use are really working hard to make each of their theme unique, I mean we have customers who care about, no?
Genereally I’d prefer to see a solution for the clones like Wordpress skins. I have once written a small system for having differernt color-styles in a template but I think the Wordpress solution for that is much better and should be coded into the theme-viewer.

And I can include notes in the readme.txt.
Thx
Comment by linkspub — April 10, 0:24

You are able to add a sub-directory with plugins and readme text file. Please be prudent not to include a whole lot of plugins and overwhelm the user by making the download file large.

If you are wondering why some of the theme(s) have been removed, read the FAQ and make sure in the future, you credit the original authors as required by their licenses. Please DO NOT re-upload the same theme and make our work difficult, else we might have to take away your upload rights.

[...] I took the backseat for much of this debate that has been raging for a few weeks now, but it’s time for my response. At Headsetoptions, we are two designers with over 70 themes to our humble credit, some original, some modified and most ported from free CSS templates designed by our friends, and most of our themes created with the aid of sponsors. Why am I saying this, and why now? Well, today, there was a huge cry about “Sponsored Themes” on a popular download site and hoards of users and designers decided to jump on the “kill the designers” bandwagon to vent their frustration, all in response to a mostly one-sided story. As if it is not enough that we make free themes, some users demand, “that we do it without even a single penny coming our way for the many hours we spend creating.” [...]

I think the user Pincopallino is spamming ThemeViewer to promote their website, because the user always posts the same structure of a layout and only changes the header image. That’s pretty annoying if it happens about several times a day. Nobody needs a layout with different pictures over and over again. People will change the image in the header if they want to anyway.
