I’ve been playing with wordpress themes for a while, and I believe this one has a very small width, and very small font. Around 78% of my visitors use 1024×768 screen, so I think theme designers should design the best look at 1024 width, with stretchable theme so that people with smaller screens can view it. Themes that use very small part of the screen will not help display lots of content (IMO).
