[...] 老外喜欢用窄栏，国人倾向用宽栏，这很明显，wisdump 很窄，themes.wordpress 里下载量彪悍的vistered-little 更窄，并且还有越来越窄的趋势，改版前的 kineda 本来就不宽了，现在又分了栏，成了少有的 4 column。事实上，版面宽度超过 600px，稍长的文字阅读起来就会感觉疲劳，Wordpress default theme 的正文宽度放在报纸上也是没有的，16k 书岂能放在屏幕上读？ [...]

[...] 取而代之的，并非那个很有名的台湾编程美女“懒懒喵”的作品AJAX Comments Reply ，而是AJAX Comment 。原因很简单，前者属于Wordpress Hack，修改了源代码，过程比较麻烦是小事，不利于系统的升级和完整性才是真正让我有所顾虑的。AJAX Comment我觉得比较优秀，并且支持一款叫做AuthImage的插件，能够提供从Captcha图片验证、无刷新评论提交、错误信息反馈、新留言即时显示的统一解决方案。具体来讲，安装过程也不顺利。使用中总是出现javascript错误（看来这是AJAX特性的一个致命缺陷，因为javascript的错误调试实在不便），我找来找去找不到原因。后来终于发现，我使用的这款Theme叫做Tiny（另有个修改版本叫作TinyMod），也作了一些修改，但是一直没发现，作者把评论表单的提交按钮的名字命名成了submitComment，这不是一个规范的名称。对于AJAX Comment插件来说，提交按钮的名字必须是submit才能正常运作。做了修改以后，就一切正常了。 [...]

this is a great theme for anyone looking to keep it simple and slick. if you think you are gonna want to change a lot on this theme and don’t know code well you may want to skip it. there isn’t a lot of support unless you speak the creator’s native language.

[...] Ok, back to the theme, Flickrville is using the Tiny Mod theme (1 column theme!), most wordpress would have spotted it but if you haven’t than at least now you know. As you can imagined i’ve tweaked the theme quite a bit, i have changed the width of the theme, the header and logo, the colours of the text (via CSS), the search bar is at the bottom, used an image for the background, i’ve added the flickrRSS plugin as you see now on the top, added the Ultimate Category Cloud plugin at the bottom (just above the MyblogLog) and some other minor modifications here and there.
