[...] Also: permalinks. This is really wonderful. For example, if I mention how you can comment/vote on themes, I can also say, Hey, go and vote for blog.txt or maybe Simplr or Barthelme, etc. You get the idea. Very useful for theme authors. [...]

Unique among the plaintxt.org stable of themes, Barthelme adds a nice splash of header color to the minimalist design package. And it does it in a very effective manner. There’s a lot to like about this theme, including the standard plaintxt.org widget-friendliness.

Very nice minimalistic theme. I used few different before but this one will stay for longer time then any which was before.

I don’t get the high ratings for this one. There’s nothing really special about it. There is no indenting of lists. The individual post layout is unbalanced. And, the whole thing is left-aligned, making for an unpleasant look on anything above 800 width.

Width and alignment are set in the theme options menu, so it’s entirely up to the theme users to choose the layout they please. Also, hierarchical category and archive lists are acheived by using Widgets; that way this theme offers more flexbility for a greater number of users.
It’s all about the negative space.

Another superb theme by Scott. With many options available in the ‘Theme Options’ tab you can’t find an easier to use theme than ‘Barthelme’.
Well done Scott.

[...] Very plain, but it has several things I like, such as the ability to subscribe to a feed of comments on a per post basis, and the next/previous navigation links at the bottom of the page. You can see this theme, Barthelme, in greater detail on the ThemeViewer site. [...]

Hi, I like the theme, would like to use it, but the hierarchy of categories doesn’t show even when the widget is configured to do so. Any chance of this being fixed?
Thanks, ANA
