it seem sweet and opacity with background is a good idea .

Thanks! I hate that the Theme Viewer doesn’t show it correctly and puts that ugly gray there instead. I’m sure lots of people will pass it by without doing the demo because of the strange looking gray areas.

I think I can tell you why the transparent area is turning gray - because certain browsers (namely, IE) can’t handle PNG with transparency. It turns all transparent areas that shade of gray. Whatever the process for making the JPG of the screenshot, it was probably done on IE and the person/system doing it didn’t realize that the gray isn’t right.
On the plus side though - the gray doesn’t look bad. Gray goes with just about anything, much like black and white. I don’t think people will run screaming
Having said that, I don’t know if IE7 has that problem or if it’s been fixed with that version. I’m on a Mac, so I can’t test it.

The grey only happens because of the limitations of the Theme Viewer. This renders correctly in IE.
