i’ve had this theme installed for a little whilst and yet for some reason i cannot get the bottom and footer to show up at all… all plugins were installed and everything, unless there is a lot of editing needed, i’m lost as to how this theme will ever work for me… anyone here who downloaded this template run into this problem?

I can’t seem to FTP the main citrus folder to my web host server because some of the file names are not ASCII compliant according to the web host. Any help?

Great theme, however, and this is a big however, most people can’t figure out how to comment. There is no click to comment feature. It is very counterintuitive. Should be click to comment not click on post header then comment. Maybe some ajax comments.

[...] i don’t know if he’s prepping chaoticsoul for use on wordpress.com, or testing out the VIP theme SVN stuff. either way, it’s cool. with a custom header, it could be citrus without leaving the bad taste of ripoff in your mouth [...]

[...] Overall the template ( Citrus ) is well designed and assembled, what always gets me are the details. Take the CSS files for example, in general 60 - 80% of the CSS is static, and only the remaining smaller percentage changes by user selection. So then why are all the templates not identical? Or even better, why isn’t there a central CSS doc to govern the static styles, and 4 smaller ones to govern the variable styles? This would make the most sense from an upkeep stand point. The formating of the CSS is all over the place, and the actual HTML of the template is not 100% correct either, there are missing closing tags on lists, divs, and probably others I haven’t found. What plugins are required though?
Comment by silver — June 23, 20:02
That “show/hide more content” really confuses things with someone like me who has a ton of categories. Maybe that could be put at the bottom, rather than the top. Also, I think all lowercase usage was popular a few years ago.

Good idea Greenlight
Comment by blacksun — June 25, 9:49
It would be a good theme if it was “widget ready”, which it isn’t, and as said before. What plugins are required? Are we supposed to guess?

[...] I’m trying to find a template to use for my site if anyone has suggestions I’d be glad to take a look. I had one I liked for layout & color, but it would have taken a lot of php editing to get it working. Citrus was the name of that template. There are some others that I like, but they don’t have anything to do with the scuba diving theme. Eventually I would like to get some scuba diving pictures and put them up here. The current template is ok, but I don’t like the page link bar across the top. I guess I should learn php or I’m going to bitch about each template I find. [...]

this is actually a very well built and designed theme. I agree that the developer leaves alot to be desired in terms of help (he even says so on his site). However, the theme is good enough to overlook that about him. Nonetheless, all you need to get this theme working is 2 things.
1. go here, download and upload the plugin (http://automattic.com/code/widgets/)
2. read his “read this first.txt” file
(you need to change a JS file to include your site title)
your done and it’s up.
peace,
eloy
