  7. Lovely design. I would love to get links and blogroll for this one..could it be possible?

    Comment by Janette — July 28, 16:55

  8. Thanks, Janette. The default sidebar on this theme contains only the search, categories, archives and meta listings. IT is widget capable, however - so you can use widgets to add links/blogrolls and other elements.

Or you can refer to the Wordpress Codex for the appropriate tags to add to the sidebar to get the display you’d like. :)

  16. Thanks for this wonderful theme! I skinned my mom’s blog with it and she loves it. I have a question, though. What would I need to edit so that when you click the blog title it would bring you back to the homepage of the blog, instead of the site, e.g. to http://www.example.com/blog/index.php instead of http://www.example.com/index.php ?

Sorry if it’s a dumb question but I’m still learning.

    Comment by Spud — September 4, 22:01

  17. [...] Recently I undertook a project to skin Plogger, an open source gallery written in PHP, with the same design as the Wordpress theme Butterfly 2.0. My mom absolutely loves the theme, and I can’t let her gallery not match the blog, so I set to work on it. At first I was trying to fit Plogger to the template, instead of the template to Plogger, if you know what I mean. Once I realized it would be easier to go about it the other way, I began making some very nice progress. I am pleased to announce that the theme is now finished and available for your downloading pleasure. [...]

  22. Excuse me, I’d love to put this skin but I don’t know if it will keep my pages… it doesn’t say “Pages” anywhere.

    Thanks!

Comment by Rayo de Plata — October 12, 20:51

  1. Rayo - there is a page.php template included in the theme file, so your pages will retain the structure of the theme.

You can include the page links in your sidebar one of two ways:

    1. Include the page display template code in the sidebar (you can obtain the correct code from the Wordpress Codex)

    2. Utilize Wordpress Widgets - which will allow you to include the page listing in the sidebar of the theme - this theme is widget compatible.

    Cheers!

  4. Hello again,

I was messing around with the template and think I found a bug. In the first selector of style.css (BODY)there is a reference to images/bg.jpg . However, this file is not included with the zip file, and furthermore when I commented out “url(images/bg.jpg) repeat-x;” it continued to work fine. Is this necessary and I’m just not seeing it, or can I safely remove it?

As always, thanks for your great work!

  5. Beautiful theme. The only thing that bugs me is that the CSS has lots of validation errors. Most have to do with background-color and generic font-family. I’ll get around to fixing them all eventually, but thought maybe its something that should be cleaned up for the future.

    1. link to ‘home’ in the header now points correctly to your blog url

    2. bg.jpg mistake removed from stylesheet - - was an archived leftover that should have been removed.

    Cheers - and happy holidays!

  12. Excellent theme… this is one in the handful of better themes located here on the site. Excellent work. You have widgets, which gives you 2 full stars to begin with… and two stars on design… no fluid width and no options page is what kept me from giving this theme 5 stars. Otherwise, excellent work!

Comment by Garry Conn — January 3, 0:50

  13. This is beautiful — I’d give it five stars if it wasn’t so cramped in the right hand column

    Comment by Matt — January 3, 2:14

  14. even after so many people asking for it, and after an update to the theme, I still do not see pages-list on the sidebar.

how hard it is to add that snippet of code by default ?
I know I can do it with widgets or copy and paste the code from somewhere else. but it would be nice if the theme has it in built.

In case anyone is wondering, the header.psd file is in the images folder. You can edit it in photoshop/elements and replace the “rockin suckerfish” logo with one of your own for personalization.I will using mysite, kvteror.com, woush.com, luzum.com, esonuc.com, turkzirve.com, iddaalig.net, yalan.org, sanalalan.org.The image shows up properly on the linked page but for some strange reason not on this site (in any Browser I tested it: FF, MSIE, Opera)Totally awesome theme Nathan, you should be proud. The Suckerfish menu will draw a lot (I repeat LOT) of people to use this!

  12. Hi - thanks for the great theme!

One quick question: I’m trying to change the font style of the heading. I’ve read this can be done by making a change to the H1 tag in the style.css file, but I can’t find the H1 tag in there.

Could you let me know how to make this change? I’m a complete neophyte (which I guess is obvious).

    Thanks!

  14. Maurice, I have done quite a bit of customization to this theme. The file you need to edit is “style.css” found in you blog’s “wp-content/themes/butterfly_2.1″ directory. The style you need to edit is called “.title” and in my file can be found around line 141.

    I hope this helps.
As always. thanks for this great theme as well!
