I would have loved to use it but your theme isn’t fluid. When I resize the browser window a little it messes up and the text flows outside the blocks. Same thing happens with 800×600 monitor resolution.
If you could fix it you have got a great theme there

Very good overall. Just switched to it from Tranquility White.
Couple minor things that are a little annoying. Not sure if you can get around them easily, though.
First, the one that Homeboy mentioned above (that it’s not fluid). It’s minor to me and I’ll keep using it.
Second, posts can get jacked if you happen to float an image near the bottom of one. The following post ends up overlapping with the prior, creating a bit of a jumble. If you make sure your posts have text appearing below the image, seems ok. Pretty minor, too.
Finally, and this is the one that’s annoyed me the most… if you want to edit the right sidebar and have the changes appear everywhere, you have to edit like 4 different files. Again it’s not the end of the world, but it would be nice if that was somehow created, for example, as a separate file called by a php INCLUDE in each of those locations.
All in all, though, I like the theme a lot and will definitely keep using it despite the minor issues. Thanks for your work here, Brian.

Thanks for the comments above. I am planning on releasing 2-column theme variation of this called Blue Zinfandel Squared, and this will accommodate 800×600 browsers. With 3 columns, it very difficult to do that. I understand the issue with having to modify 4 different files, and the reason I set it up this way is to give people the chance to have different stuff on the right sidebar, like I have on my site.

I was just about to download this theme… it would have been perfect for my new personal blog site. But I saw that it wasn’t widgets ready and now I am back on the hunt.
I could download the theme and modify it for widgets, but this is something I feel every theme designer should be required to do before uploading here. It’s no skin off your back to take an extra 10 minutes to widgetize your theme so that thousands of people can use your theme with the added features (people that don’t know how to do it).
I seriously might start accepting requests to widgetize themes because people are still designing their themes without including them. Widgets totally makes Wordpress more enjoyable and customizable. I can’t seem to understand why designers will work for hours creating a wonderful theme, and choose to not invest just a few more minutes making their theme widgets ready? Oh well…

Garry: widgets are intended to deliver enhanced functionality to folks who don’t know HTML and CSS. But, if you do, it’s often simpler to code something yourself. I’ve taken to deleting all the widget code in a theme rather than trying to applying my CSS to the existing code. It’s easier.

And that is my exact point!
Let bloggers be bloggers and let programmers be programmers…
So by you purposely not making your theme widgets ready you are targeting an audience of experienced people only… so you don’t care to take 5 minutes to make your theme fun and enjoyable for everyone, including newbies?
Man, that’s kinda harsh if you asked me.

Seriously. Take a deep breath. Have a sip of an alcoholic beverage.
If memory serves me correctly, the creator of this theme isn’t getting paid for it. He posted it free for people to use - and you’re getting on his back for it. If you don’t like it, review it for it’s merits or lack thereof, then move on. Don’t spend your time judging someone else for something they may or may not have added in work they are offering to you and everyone for free.
Judge not, lest ye be. And if ye be, let they be as prickish as thee.

To the authors of this theme and/or bmg1227:
This is a very nice theme. However, the statement by bmg1227 on 12/27/2006 that a dynamic or fluid width theme with 3 columns is difficult to do is not true.
A fluid layout with three columns is quite easy to do and works in every current browser. Setting column widths as percentages and floating them all left is the easiest way to do it. Also, if you float one fixed-width column left, float another fixed-width column right, then you can have a fluid width center as long as you set the left and right margins equal to the fixed widths of the left and right columns.
I was thinking about using this theme, as I am new to Wordpress. But I’ll have to investigate this widget stuff further before I decide.

To the poster above, thats what I am looking for. I want the three column so the column divider lines dont move when you shrink your window and so that it floats to the left. That way people with 800×600 windows will be able to see the left sidebar and the main column, and everyone else will see all three without scrolling. Can this be changed easily with this theme? For now Im just running the 2 column.
