How can i add a 100% width footer to this theme? i have tried and cant for the life of me get it to work when articles arent longer than the sidebars.

I like this theme and implemented it very quickly across five blogs. I started running into slowness issues loading the homepage and reverted back to the vanilla tiga right out of the box and it was still slow. Switched to another theme as a test (2Exquisite was closest to the thumb) and that was lightening fast. But I want to use Tiga. Any ideas?
The website I am testing themes on is http://www.rightypolitics.com

Not my favorite theme BUT really love the use of proper language files (those .mo/.po) to localise the theme. So many other themes just hardcode English. It’s a nightmare for other language speakers to fix.
Some answers:
- Erik: The “Fatal error: Cannot redeclare tiga_getuseragent()” error is due to Tiga’s use of the Theme Toolkit. Solution: drop in a replacement TT file hacked for WP MU.
- Jeff: Your “MS Power Point template” is actually the template for the PO language translation files.

Well programmed and easy to modify, especially with the WordPress Widgets plugin and the Tigarator mod. These make modifying a piece of cake. Thanks very much Shamsul! Have donated and hope you keep this going.

I’m using this theme on 2.0.5 and I like it. Some advice, the standard Flickr Photo Album plugin works a LOT better with this theme than FAlbum(sux). If you get the Sidebar Widget plugin it’s easy to add random photos too.

A most excellent and professionally prepared theme. The Tigarator is the best!! Every theme needs a utility like that one.

My blog was humming with Tiga until I got home tonight and it looked like this:
http://writeatlanta.com/tiga.jpg (just a screen cap of what I saw)
I had a apply another theme for now until I can figure out what is going on. Any ideas? Maybe I accidentally edited something I should not have, but I swear it was working after I edited it last.

BTW, I completely uninstalled it and uploaded the theme again with no change. Why would it work for awhile and then not? My other themes work.

Hi all,
I’ve uploaded a new version (1.0.2) which fixes compatibility issues with WP2.1.
The main changes are in :-
tiga.php
sidebar.php
themetoolkit.php (removal of extra blank lines & spaces after the
closing ‘?>’ at end of file)If you’ve modified your version of tiga I recommend that you download winmerge (http://winmerge.org/) and use that tool to compare the above files and merge the necessary changes.

Thanks for the update to the theme. One quick quibble - for reasons I can’t explain, my blogroll links have their ‘alt’ text displayed next to the links (instead of only on roll-over). Is there a way to disable this?
Comment by M-D November — January 29, 5:26
-
I have the same problem as M-D November, the alt tags showing up in the Blogroll.
Other quirks, all of my “pages” showed up as regular posts, and the upload manager does not see anything previously uploaded (these are 2.1 issues, not Tiga problems, I suppose).

I’ve implemented this theme with both WP 2.07 and 2.1, and in both cases there is a problem with changing permalinks. If I choose date and name based permalink structure, then the theme breaks and seems to lose all style sheet formatting. I would love to use tiga because it has a really nice look, but not until that bug is fixed.

Shamsul,
when clicking at Test Run link the page opens with following:Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/themesw/public_html/testrun/wp-content/themes/66/sidebar.php on line 97

Had the first version and it ran fine, uploaded the second and it changed things . How so, I loaded / selected this as the current theme and 10seconds to 1 minute later the whole blog went to WP’s default theme. It wasn’t me and it wasn’t the host “Freshly Pressed” I uploaded the first version and have NOT had a problem.
Beats me. Working now but its the original version

[...] Before moving any of my posts and related information to my new domain, I wanted to get it all set up. My first goal was to find a theme I liked. There are thousands of options available so it took awhile. I was looking for a 3-column, widget ready theme. I settled on Tiga which may or may not be a good thing. I will plug the Theme Viewer from Wordpress - a handy tool for finding themes that fit your needs. [...]

I have noticed that on pages other than those with blog posts in, the title shows about two lines down and in ordinary bold. On blog pages, the date is nicely set in a grey block header. Is there a way to make non post pages show the title within a header block like the bog post dates?
Many thanks

[...] If you’re looking for WordPress blog templates, check out the Theme viewer. You can search for themes based on a wide variety of criteria, and see them on a sample blog before downloading and installing. As you might expect, some work better than others. I really like this current theme (Tiga), because it includes an HTML interface for changing colors, column widths, field heights, fonts, etc. It’s very nicely done. Two problems - using WP 2.0 and Tiga 1.06 (?), and having the following problems:
1. how to get rid of the gap between the top of the page and the top of the header image? Tried resetting various paddings and margins to zero, but no luck. If this is right approach, please tell me where…
2. Links still not displaying. Even updated code to 2.1 WP, and no luck. How complicated is this to get fixed?

Hello!
I’m running my blogg ( http://www.hell-man.se ) on this theme, Tiga, but now I’ve been informed that Tiga is not compatibile with the new release of WordPress, version 2.2.
The reason is said to be that WP 2.2 has an inbuildt handing of widgets. As I’ve been told, there is needed to be an upgrade of Tiga to fix this.
Is there anyone out there knowing if there will be such an upgrade?
I love this theme. It is 100 % fitting my needs. I absolutely don’t like to change to some other theme.
Thanks in advance! Feel free to mail me on hell-man@hell-man.se, if you prefer that.
Regards,
/Linus

Pingback by Blog The Internet - Blogging the Internet one site at a time… » My Wordpress Theme Review: Tiga 1.0.1 — August 11, 16:29
Tiga 1.0.1 is the theme that is being used here at Blog The Internet. It is widgets ready and is extremely easy to customize. There isn’t any aspect of the theme that I can’t edit using the Tigarator (an interface for editing the theme). I can change colors to fonts, backgrounds, borders, everything. I can customize sidebar widths, and even the entire page width. In my opinion, this is the best free widgets ready theme available.
Comment by Blog The Internet — August 11, 16:32
Very nice theme. Using it at the Geek Review both because of its good looks, and it’s the only three col widget ready theme that don’t stick both the side bars off to one side which in my opinion leaves the page looking very unbalanced.
