  9. This is really sharp - though, I do agree with tom (above) that the grey on white is a bit difficult on the eyes - - but that’s an easy style fix. Nice job :)

    I love it!!

    THE BEST!!!!

  13. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I do agree it is a little light, but I honestly didn’t expect anyone to really download or use it! I probably should update it so it’s not so hard on the eyes, so I’ll try that soon as I’ve got some spare time now :)

    Thanks again

  14. There is a little problem with comments using this theme. NO COMMENTS on pages!!! Even if you want. The link does not show up, and the form etcher.
Please go to tes run, and click on Page 1 or Page 2. No comments, no link to comments. Nothing!

    Comment by Marek — January 8, 2:48

  15. Ahh I see what you mean. I’ll make sure I fix that with the next revision.

    thanks!

  17. John,

Please do comment back and let us know when you have made that correction with comments. I am waiting until that fix is made before implementing on a site of mine. The design is very unique and I like it a lot.

Comment by Garry Conn — January 12, 6:49

  18. Hey Garry,

I’ve uploaded a new version that should work with the comments on pages. I’ve also made it a little less light, so it shouldn’t be as hard on the eyes as the previous version :)

Other slight changes are I’ve cut about 20 pixels from the height of the header, and added .5k worth of Javascript for the Suckerfish drop downs. There’s a couple other things I’ve probably forgotten, so hopefully they don’t break anything.

Thanks for the kind words :)

    Veeery good.

  2. Great job. Comments on Pages are fixed!!! Thank you.

One small thing. What happened to tag? Horizontal line is not visible in Firefox, but is visible in IE 7.0

Is this something related to CSS?

And the other thing. With the next fix / release. Can we got description with file was modified and how? I am translating this scheme to other language. Because of 9.0 to 9.0B update I was forced to translate this theme again. Not big deal, but I am 60 minutes short ;)

I love this theme, good work and fast fix on comments!!! Thank you!!!

    Comment by Marek — January 16, 3:39

  3. I mean tag hr - horizontal line

    Comment by Marek — January 16, 3:40

  4. Hey everyone,

I’ve updated the theme to 0.9d.

This time I’ve fixed the widget support which would go weird with some widgets. I’ve added a hr style so it’ll display in Firefox now.

I’ve also included a changelog.txt which should contain information on the changes made between versions. That should make life easier for people editing the themes. I might have missed some of the changes, but will keep track of it for future revisions.

I’ve also added a GPL license to the theme.

    Thanks :)

    John

  5. Thank you John for fixes (especially for hr tag) and for changelog.txt :).

I am very pleasant with this theme. Good work.

I have one more question. On Pages. Is the Edit button missing or it was intentionally to not include this edit option from layout?

    Comment by Marek — January 17, 1:47

  6. Marek,

I thought I’d leave them out as I would have assumed that people would normally edit Pages from the backend, but I’ll put it in with the next revision. Makes sense to be able to edit from the view page.

  11. Would it be possible to get some additional versions of this fantastic template with new colors and textures implemented?

Possibly a nice shiny metallic texture like this one:

  2. Love this theme and am using it on my site. The copyright message doesn’t seem to be working correctly, though. It says “© 0 - 2007″. It doesn’t appear that is working properly. Any ideas?

  4. Very good theme. I used it for 3 months in my blog but affter hacking it a lot, stoped working in IE :(

Comment by Silveira Neto — March 17, 15:46

  5. If by “stopped working” you mean that one of the sidebars disappeared, I had the same problem. One of the elements I had in a text widget was too wide. I took that out and voila!

    Comment by Al — March 19, 14:58

  6. Great work, really enjoying playing around with it. One question though - I’m trying to adjust the theme’s color scheme to my site and am mostly very satisfied, but I can’t seem to find the CSS that controls the sidebar items category name - with the navy blue background that I’ve chosen, the grey color doesn’t show very well.

    Can you help?

    Comment by lex — March 25, 17:25

  7. Hi there. This Theme is great. I am using the sidebar widget plugin and it works great on the left sidebar, but really messes up the blogroll/friends section on the right sidebar. I leaves them spaced funny with dots on the side of the links and throws them out of alignment. It also will not show the RSS subscribe buttons as widgets. Do you know why the right sidebar is not friendly with this widget? Just wondering.
    Thanks

  8. Hey guys,

sorry I haven’t responded in a while but had a lot of other stuff happening.

In regards to the widget problems, I’ll have to have a better look at that. I tested it with the more standard, and less complicated widgets, and it worked ok… but yeah, there are a lot of other widgets that sound like they break the template. I’ll make sure I do more testing for the next version of the template.

The IE6 issues I’ll look into, but as IE6 doesn’t like the usual min-width css, it just breaks (happens with all 3 column liquid/fluid layouts i think). I think this can be fixed with javascript, so I’ll add that in the next version.

al: The copyright message doesn’t seem to be working correctly, though. It says “© 0 - 2007″.

Sorry about that, it’s something I’ll need to fix it. What it does is checks the date of the first post, and then uses that as the first date, but for some reason doesn’t always work. It seems to work more often than not, but yeah, it would be annoying.

lex: …but I can’t seem to find the CSS that controls the sidebar items category name.

That’s be in the Portlet section of the css, specifically the following line.

    #column2 ul li h2, #column2 ul li h3, #column3 ul li h2, #column3 ul li h3 {margin: 0; padding: 0.5em; color: #666; background: url(’images/portlet_header.png’)}

Change the color: #666 to change the colour of the side panel column headers.

  13. I’ve been using this theme for a few months now, and I’m very happy with it. With just a few CSS and graphics changes, it can look quite a bit different from the downloaded theme. Thanks, John!

  14. FYI, I found the source of my comment form problems (see comment #33). Basically, when viewed in Firefox, this theme loses the borders on any form elements. After some digging around, I found you can fix it by adding two lines to the theme’s style.css file:

    textarea {border: 1px solid;}
    input {border: 1px solid;}

With those lines added, the theme now works beautifully for me…

Comment by Sam Wise — April 19, 21:44

  15. OK, the IE5/6 issues have been sorted out with this version. IE users can rejoice at the fact they can now view the template at a width of 600 pixels or less!

There have been a lot of changes done, so if anyone has done any modifications (other than simple header type stuff which hasn’t changed), it’ll probably be a little bit more work to convert this theme over.

Hopefully it works ok now! Widget stuff has been improved a little, but will fix that up properly once I get some more time!
